As Alyssa & Artis sat up one friday night watching television, Artis nerves were beginning to get the best of him. He knew that he had found in Alyssa the other half of him that makes him whole and he was not about to let her go. The only problem was that before he collected himself enough to officially propose to her that night, she fell fast asleep right next to him on the couch. Now what would he do??? Does he wake her and handle his official business or does he let her sleep and figure out a plan B? To make matters more intense he knew he had friends and family waiting on him to propose and update his ‘status’ on Facebook. Before long the text messages began to flood in asking did he do it yet, and all he could say was “she fell asleep.” Without giving away their whole story just know that the very next morning, Artis proposed and she said yes…
Artis & Alyssa actually met way back in 2004 at Morgan State but didn’t start dating until 2007, not long after Alyssa had a “moment” with him at a party when she made him bump into her in order to get his attention….and his number 
Fast forward a bit and before this year is out they will be married at The Merion and we can’t wait to document their love. They found us through a basic Google search, and after sitting down with them for the first time several months back we could not believe how much fun we had and quite frankly how hilarious they are as a couple.
A while back we got together early one morning and walked around Franklin Square for a few engagement photos.
It was only right that we have some fun on the swings.
Who would have thought that we would find a brick out there with Alyssa’s name on it….
I (Bernard) would be remiss if I did not mention that Artis went to the world reknown Central High School (my alma mater).

We can recall a little while back in an email we sent to Katie, addressing her as the “The Future Mrs Bennett”, and her response being “You don’t know how that just made my day, I cannot wait to be Mrs. Bennett.” Reading that actually made our day and we felt the pure excitement Katie had to be marrying her best friend. Our first wedding of the season and we could not have asked for a better couple.
We would not be surprised if the next time you looked up “focused” and “determination” in the dictionary, Wikipedia or Google, you came across a picture of Katie & Dave. One of the biggest stories of this day was the fact that on her wedding day, Katie had accomplished more goals than one. On top of becoming the new Mrs Bennett, she had reached the goal that she set roughly a year ago for herself of losing weight and being in the best shape of her life for their special day. It was amazing watching the two of them (mostly through Facebook) progress in their journey to whip themselves into shape by their big day. Katie and Dave booked us sometime last summer and we knew from the start that we would have a great time working together. Although they currently live in Ohio, their wedding was in Maryland where Katie grew up. So on their wedding day we were all just meeting for the first time.
The day pretty much started by meeting the girls over at Zen Head Salon where they were getting their hair & makeup done.
Katie came prepared with her magazine so she could let the make-up artist know exactly what she wanted.
After the ceremony, it was off to Turf Valley Resort which proved to be a very scenic location for bridal party pics.
