FIRST ENGAGEMENT SESSION OF 2011 : SIMONE & DOUG

undefined

Could we ask for a better way to start an engagement session?? We think not!

As Doug sat in our living room telling us the story of how he was going to propose to Simone, I’m pretty sure my mouth was watering.  Anxiousness was building up because he was letting me know how he wanted us to capture his official proposal to the love of his life, Simone.  How honored we felt!  It would work out perfectly and completely catch her off guard.  The hard part for him would be to keep everything under wraps and not spill the beans of just how much the ring would be burning a hole in his pocket over the next couple of weeks.

Before long the day came for their ‘portrait’ session and we met Simone and Doug bright & early one morning on location to set the stage. The setting was perfect, Simone & Doug would have a seat in our predetermined spot and just take a few moments to talk, while Tiffany & I stood at a distance taking “test” shots.  Little did Simone know that we had already taken plenty of ‘test’ shots, and once we secretly gave Doug the cue he would take care of the rest.  All we can remember hearing is “Aww Douglas, is this for real…..I can’t believe it!”, as Simone began to fight the tears that were forcing their way out. (Btw, Tiffany was fighting back tears as well and failed, lol!)

It is real stories like these that definitely make our hearts smile.  We are reminded of just how awesome of a job & privilege we have, to capture people at some of the happiest moments of their life.  Simone & Doug, now we are really looking forward to the wedding later this year.

Not bad at all on the custom design my man.undefined

Being the opportunist that we are, knowing that Doug was going to propose we decided ahead of time to get them a card to say CONGRATULATIONS!!!

We stopped for a few minutes and Simone decided it was time to do her happy dance….sorry Simone, don’t hate us.

RECENT VISIT TO ARIZONA

Recently I (Bernard) had a chance to travel to Tempe, Arizona on business for about a week.  While I didn’t get a chance to take a whole lot of pictures, we decided to share a few of the ones that I did take.  For those that have never been, Tempe is a local suburb of Phoenix that is mostly populated by those that attend or work at Arizona State University which has a student body of about 58,000, definitely a college town.  The population of Tempe is about 175,000 residents and it covers about 40 square miles.  It is bordered by Phoenix on the west, Scottsdale to the north, with an average summer time temperature of 103 degrees, yikes!  There are 44 hotels and motels in Tempe with a combined 5,330 rooms and since Tiffany did not get a chance to accompany me on the trip she is determined to get to one of those resorts in Scottsdale to enjoy the world renowned Spa treatments.

This is the hotel I stayed at, called the Tempe Mission Palms.

The mountain just behind the hotel.

This was one of the coolest things I saw while there.  Apparently orange trees grow there naturally but what I learned is that the oranges themselves are not really edible since the trees have not been genetically altered to produce good fruit….sounds kinda backwards if you ask me.

This is my boy Jacob Tyler Lucas…..just kidding, I don’t actually know him but his music sounded good.

This was an absolutely gorgeous site to take in, the picture still doesn’t do it much justice.

Happy Tuesday!
