JEN & BRIAN : CENTENNIAL PARK, MARYLAND

SO ARE YOU GONNA ASK ME OUT OR WHAT??  The first time we met Jen & Brian they drove up to Philly to meet us at our home and go over plans for their upcoming wedding this fall, and we hit it off immediately.  They are quite possibly the funniest couple we will work with his year.  We spent most of our initial time together laughing at some of the funny stories they told us.  Jen and Brian met 6 yrs ago when they started working together in Maryland, Brian being the head of the department Jen started in. The first 3 years of them knowing one another they didn’t really speak outside of little office pleasantries, until about 3 years ago when their friendship started to grow over time.  One night while being out with a mutual friend who was pushing to get them together, Jen finally asked the opening words of this post….”So are you gonna ask me out or what?”  It’s almost like ‘come on buddy you don’t notice me over here putting in work with you, what’s the hold up.’

“As cliche as it sounds, I knew after our first date that he and I would be in this for the long haul.” – Jen

We had a great time a few weeks back hanging out with Jen & Brian and some friends, including one of her bridesmaids.  One thing we learned is that this bridal party is going to be a riot and we are looking forward to it. Once again there were a lot of laughs and we managed to get some pretty nice images as we walked around Centennial Park in Maryland.  Let us know what you think.

The picture on the right was Brian’s idea, we think it turned out nice.

We couldn’t decide on which one we like more, which one do you think?

At this point Jen was hoping and praying Brian didn’t drop her… he didn’t of course.

I can’t remember why Brian was getting in trouble right here but Jen’s face is priceless.

Thanks for spending the day with us guys, we are looking forward to your wedding this fall!

ENGAGEMENT SESSION: KISHA & MIKE

I HAVE TO HAVE HIM!  That’s what Kisha thought to herself back in 2002 when she first saw Mike walk into a restaurant she was in, almost 8 years ago.  Being the confident woman that she is, Kisha approached Mike and after striking up a conversation asked him for his number.  Being a few years older, Mike couldn’t give in initially but before they left the restaurant she had his digits.  After their first date at the movies they went out a couple times and became really good friends until December 2004, when Mike asked Kisha to be his girlfriend.  “That was the best gift I could have asked for and of course I said yes, I was so happy.   It was as if he had asked me to marry him! I had finally gotten the man that I had been chasing for TWO years!!!!” says Kisha.  After developing their relationship for a couple years and beginning to raise a beautiful family, Mike proposed to Kisha in 2009.  “ I had tears of joy in my eyes and jumped on top of him and screamed YESSSS!!!!  I was finally going to be his “WIFE”.  We will have the honor of documenting Mike & Kisha’s wedding this June in Drexel Hill.

Kisha & Mike’s 2 little guys were along for the ride with us that day and we think they had fun as well.

And if you didn’t see it before, how cute are their little guys!

It looks like Kisha was saying to Mike “Get over here boy.”

Engagement Session: Colleen & Jamal

“YOUR GONNA BE MY GIRL SOMEDAY…”  Thats what Jamal said to Colleen after his second time meeting her back in 2004.  It’s not often that the guys remembers years later what a girl was wearing when they first met, but once Jamal saw Colleen in the “pink sweatsuit” that she had on at that time, it was already a done deal in his eyes.  How cute!  And so here they are 6 years later about to get married.  I would be remiss if I didn’t mentioned that my man Jamal has his Masters from Temple University (my alma mater, thank you very much) & Colleen compliments well with her Degree from Drexel (too smart for me).  Their daughter Jayla is the real boss of the family though, we look forward to seeing her again at the wedding.

Just last week we had the opportunity to get out in some great (slightly warm) weather and shoot their engagement session.  We first met Colleen and Jamal to discuss their upcoming wedding plans, last year not too long after their December 25th engagement.  From our first time meeting we knew there was a connection, anyone can tell from meeting them that they compliment each other well.  For their e-session, they were nicely coordinated in their purple and ready to go.  We are looking forward to shooting their upcoming wedding this August in New Jersey.

They were having just as much fun as we were, Jamal is the jokster and Colleen has ‘the’ smile.

I think the picture below on the right may be one of our favorites from the day.

Sometimes its the moment just before and just after the kiss…

Doesn’t this picture look like Jamal is trying to kick some serious game and Colleen is like “YEAH YEAH YEAH…WHATEVER”
